MATCH REPORTS

KVS 1 - Melmac 1

SHINED | September 12, 2020
Because two players from KVS'17 work at the market, the match was scheduled in the evening. It is important that you make good preparation for such a competition. At Melmac, that preparation comes in the form of a good and tasty pasta. How do you approach this? Good question, dear reader.
You start by gathering all the ingredients at your local supermarket. The ingredients for this power food pasta are: chestnut mushrooms, onion, frozen spinach (can also be fresh, but why would you want to), cream cheese and preferably fusilli. You can use a different paste, but again: why would you? You cut the onion and the chestnut mushrooms and fry them well. Later you also add bacon - think about the vegetarians, so make a pan without bacon - and finally the frozen spinach. You leave them in there long enough until they are no longer frozen cubes, but thin strings. Finally, add the cream cheese and stir everything until well combined. How long does all this take? Then it doesn't really matter, just do it with feeling, with timing and with your heart for cooking and everything will be fine. In addition to working on the sauce, you cook the fusilli on the side. Remember: never use too high a heat. That can be disastrous for the pasta. You want it to be tasty. If you use too high a heat, the pasta may no longer be tasty. Anyway. When the pasta is thoroughly cooked, drain it. Once the pasta has been drained, you can choose to mix the fusilli with 'the sauce'. Not necessary, but possible. It's up to your own choice.
The most important part of consuming the pasta is enjoying it. You have just spent a while - depending on how long - you spend in the kitchen, so it is important that you enjoy it. Just like when we were preparing this pasta. Well, we all had delicious fusilli with frozen spinach: off to Schijndel. When we arrive in Schijndel, we prepare again. Only in the form of a warm-up. Very important before exercising, warming up the muscles properly to prevent injuries. So we who have had the preparation for the match, let's start. It was an exciting match. The teams competed quite evenly. Melmac played better in the first half, but unfortunately let it drop to 5-5 just before half time. In the second half, KVS's shots flew in more easily than Melmac's, allowing the home team to always create a gap. The Tilburg team were able to come back to an equal score a few times, but in the end the KVS strikers made the difference and the final score was 15-13. A shameful loss for the Melmaccers. That is why, after the match, we immediately started preparing for the next match (at home against Klimop, ed.), because good preparation, dear readers, is half the battle.
