ZIGO MW1 - Melmac MW1

On a dark Wednesday evening before Christmas, the ladies of Melmac were determined to celebrate one more time in 2018, so that the legendary championship year could be ended in style. So we transported ourselves by car, train or party bus to our most holy ZIGO in the Reeshof.
Our avenging opponent was ready, and the match could begin. What happened in the next hour would certainly deserve a place in a list such as 'The Most Shocking Sports Moments of 2018' on TV. It turned out to be a titanic battle in which balls, lenses and fingers suffered. Goal after goal the score increased, which only increased the tension further. At 8-8 the flame almost seemed to go out of control, because doubts arose about the existence of Anne's goal. Two players in this story in particular, I will call them Joseph and Mary, seemed absolutely convinced
of their own invented truth. Fortunately, Melmac managed to recover, partly under the leadership of Lisa W who managed to score 6 (!) times and literally and figuratively did not let herself be beaten out of the field. Unfortunately, at the (debatable) moment when the whistle blew, it turned out to be just not enough (because the playing time was too short), and we had to agree with 12-11 against. Despite this dull misery, I would like to end this year on a positive note, because in addition to our aforementioned championship, we are a fun and sporty team that keeps getting a little better. And not every association can say that about itself 🙂
