The first home game for the ladies against ODC. After a good training on Monday we felt confident!
Our old teammate Lisa W was also present again, this time in the opponent's team. The first half started very well, Mirjam was the first to throw in a ball, and not much later she also threw in the second. For those who filled in Mirjam at the Alf post, 10. After this, Amy also hit a nice shot, 3-0! After this goal the focus was gone for a while, and the opponent came back to 3-3, and with this score we went into half time. After some motivational words we continued the match. It started a little slower because dear Lisa scored 2 goals, but the match was then taken over by Melmac. This is how Mirjam, Fenna D, Lisa and Anne started playing varying games, which meant that I felt like Anne was free for about a minute and could play Rondo with herself undisturbed. Fortunately, the third attempt went into the basket, and the opponent stood there and watched it..
In the meantime, the training of the other Melmaccers was over, and we had extra support. Because a number of people had voted for Fenna D, she was strongly encouraged to score, and she did, 5-5. The tension rose, and the defense was on edge. Nothing was scored for a while, until Amy threw in another ball ( 10). It didn't stop there, because Nynke also threw in another ball, which ensured that we won this match 7-5! I heard that last year's championship also started with a first defeat, so who knows what this season will bring us... Stay tuned!
